Katerina was nominated by Cees de Bont, Dean of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Design. She submitted an award-winning necklace design named “Spirit of Virtue” which impressed the judge panel, Nicolas Bos, President of Van Cleef & Arpels and Marie Vallenet-Delhom, President of L’ÉCOLE Van Cleef & Arpels. The creation of the beautiful piece was sponsored by the company and being a winner, Katerina will join a sponsored week’s visit to the headquarters in Paris.
She writes in her process book:
“With the Spirit of Virtue Necklace, a strong artistic vision was combined with delicate finesse to result in a brilliant artwork
that embodies goodness, beauty and grace. I believe that the power of my design lies in its blending of visual stimulation
and delicate craftsmanship. In this way it captures the story’s essence in a unique manner, since it previously travelled time
through words and pictures alone. ”
